I would like to start by saying; I am no photographer. My critique is based on my knowledge of art, as a whole.
As with any great work of art it has tremendous appeal. You captured the light in perfect contrast to show off the natural beauty of the scene. It has a comforting effect that is important to make a person want to be there, which leads us all to ponder.
It is the things you can't see in the photograph that lead to extended thought.
At the center of this piece is evidence of another time. The railroad tracks tell a powerful story of a past near forgotten. It's present tells of how all things in life are subject to being re-consumed by nature, and tales of another time, that fade with time.
I want to break down my rating on this deviation;
Vision = 5 stars. It takes great vision to be able to share with others, the scene that you see, and why it would have a strong impact on others. You have done that here, in spades.
Originality = 4 stars. This rating would be very difficult to achieve all 5 stars. To do so would mean taking photographs of something that very few do. I for one, am glad you don't often do that!
Technique = 5 stars. Myself, not being well versed in the "rules" of photography, can only see the positioning, clarity, and saturation of light and color used. I see perfection.
Impact = 5 stars. I can't over-state the impact this has on me, and I assume, on others as well. Another place and time where it be so nice to be.
I encourage others to view more of your work! Your photographs are a real treat. I like what they do for me, and would, no doubt do for many others.
