This looks like the hike up to Clingman's Dome Tower. Yes, the clouds of water vapor do indeed look like smoke. Even my local ancestors, the Ancient Ones of the Cherokee Nation, referred to these tree covered mountains as the land of blue smoke.
To hike in these green hills is to be forever changed by the nature abounding here. Everywhere you look, there is life, both large and small. One plants feet very gently upon the ground in reverence to Pachamama's handiwork.
